Paula O`Donnell founded Cycle Studio in Stillorgan with a mission to provide a flexible approach to getting fit, a start up business. She hopes to expand the business shortly in North Dublin. In simple terms the studio is a local drop in spin studio based on Spinergy in the US.

Welcome to Cycle Studio, Dublin’s first DEDICATED INDOOR CYCLING STUDIO.

At Cycle Studio we are committed to providing a great mind-body workout and the best indoor cycling experience around. Our aim is to make it as easy and attractive as possible to fit a great cardiovascular workout into your day.

Contrary to what a lot of people think, you do not need a high baseline fitness to start indoor cycling. Our classes can be as easy or as hard as you like, though we do like to see people sweat, just a little anyway! You will be led by great instructors playing great music but it is ultimately YOUR ride.

WHY WE’RE DIFFERENT !
Classes are currently available in multi-discipline gyms but at Cycle Studio because we are dedicated to indoor cycling we offer something different, explains owner Paula O’Donnell. “Being dedicated means we can focus on being the best and having the best of everything associated with indoor cycling. Having experienced it in the U.S. and the U.K , there is nothing quite like it here…..until now that is !!”
1. Payment Options
No commitment or contracts required. Classes are pay-as-you go with discounts for class packages.
2. Reserving Bikes
Our online booking system allows you to reserve a bike in advance, which means you are guaranteed a bike even when you arrive just before the class begins. No need to rush or arrive crazy early.
3. Frequency of Classes
The initial class schedule has 24 classes per week. 4 classes per day Monday- Friday and 2 classes per day at the weekend, which we plan to increase over time giving great flexibility on when you workout.

4. Great Instruction
We believe that instruction should have the right balance of focus between technique, great music and enjoyment. Bike set-up, safety, correct posture and technique are constant non-wavering aspects of all our classes but we don’t take an overly purist approach to technique. We love outdoor cyclists we just don’t expect everyone to be one! We truly believe in providing motivation that is high in energy but down-to-earth. All our instructors are qualified fitness professionals and members of the Indoor Cycling Association (ICA).
5. Class Types
For the first number of weeks at Cycle Studio we will be running interval classes, which all fitness levels can do. These are great high-energy classes that cover all types of terrains and positions e.g. sitting on the bike while on a flat road, standing to get up a steep hill, recovering down the other side jumping over a few bumps and then sprinting to the finish!
As variety is the spice of life and great for improving fitness, after the first few weeks we intend to introduce a mix of different class types e.g. strength and endurance classes, which together with the on-going interval classes will suit those with very specific fitness goals and are likely to appeal to outdoor cyclists.
We will also be scheduling classes focussed on one specific music type or band e.g. Rock, R&B, Queen, U2 and we’ll be looking at opportunities to run classes such as post-baby classes, older age group classes etc.
When you come to the studio you will see a white board with times and class types. Please mark which times and class types suit you best and we will build our class schedule around that.

6. Next Generation Technology – Bikes & Monitors
We have brand new Schwinn® bikes with magnetic resistance that are smooth; smooth; smooth. We have them serviced regularly to ensure they remain that way. Squeaks, rust and dodgy resistance are no-no’s. Our bikes are fitted with consoles, which help you monitor how you’re doing. While our instructors will always provide you with a guide as to how you should be feeling, they can’t talk (and we don’t want them to) all of the time. Our consoles help you to keep an eye on your performance without being overly technical.

7. Studio
Our boutique style studio is designed to be a little different to a typical gym. The lighting is low, primarily provided by candles and the overall design is centred on enabling the mind to focus. Once the mind is focussed the body will follow supporting a great mind-body workout!!
