Wicklow grandmother Cathy Whitty has signed a huge deal to stock her bake at home bread mixes at Planet Organic and WholeFoods Market in London. Well done from us here at Mompreneursireland we decided to learn more.

Welcome to Cathy’s Spelt for Health!

Cathy has developed a range of five mixes which you can bake at home yourself. The good thing about all Cathy’s mixes is that they are delicious, and suitable for everyone especially those who are wheat intolerant as spelt is gentle on the digestive system.

All the range are made from spelt flour and there are five in the family so far; Multiseed Bread Mix, Wholemeal Bread Mix, Tomato and Herb Bread/Pizza Base, White Scone Mix and a Flapjack Mix. What’s more is that you can bake lots of different things from each bag, they are so versatile as you will see from our recipes! Our mixes

Cathy’s Spelt for Health have developed a wonderful range of spelt bread pre-mixes which you can easily bake at home. You can adapt each of these mixes to your own dietary requirements. The breads contain no added sugar and so are suitable for diabetics. If you want to avoid dairy try soya, rice or coconut milk when making the bread and scones. You can substitute coconut oil for butter when making the scones and flapjacks. Maple syrup instead of golden syrup is delicious as a natural sweetener in the flapjacks.

Our Flapjacks won Two Gold Stars at the Great Taste Awards 2011 and Silver at the Blas na hEireann, Irish Food Awards in 2012.

In 2011 our Tomato and Herb Bread Mix won Gold at the Blas na hEireann, Irish Food Awards.

Multiseed Bread Mix

Whole spelt flour packed with 27% seeds: sunflower, linseed & pumpkin seeds, bread soda and salt. Great as it is with butter, or made into scones with fruit and spices of your choice.
