The Smart Girls Zone, will have experts on hand to give practical advise on career, alongside beauty, hair and fashion tips. Workshops and interactive shows will be running throughout the day, each day.

The Business Zone will have business bootcamp programmes devised by Harmonia CEO and RTE Dragons Den star Norah Casey, allowing aspiring entrepreneurs to learn from Ireland’s leading women in business.

Every year, The Ultimate Girls Day Out is awash with original outfits and up-to-the minute style from our legions of visitors.

Do you have what it takes to be crowned the Ultimate Best Dressed Lady? A celebrity-judge will each day choose stylish ladies who embody the ethos of each of Harmonia’s magazines (Irish Tatler, Woman’s Way and U Magazine). Sunday will see each daily winner competing for the title of Ultimate Best Dressed with the overall winner will take home a gorgeous designer dress and bespoke hat made by Irish milliner Lucy Gilmore Murphy.

Orlaith Carmody is a Director of Mediatraining.ie, a communications and management consultancy she set up in1992 with Gavin Duffy, and a broadcaster, motivational speaker and media commentator. A Journalism graduate, she wrote for national newspapers and magazines before moving into broadcast news reporting/producing with LMFM and Century Radio, and later with RTÉ where she was a senior staff journalist throughout the nineties.

She was appointed to the Board of RTÉ by the Oireachtas Committee on Communications in December 2009, following public competition, to serve a five-year term; and in 2010, was a Screen Training Ireland bursary award winner and participant on the Entertainment Master Class, the international media development programme. Orlaith is a director of a number of SMEs in the areas of communications management and production, and joined the Board of the HRM Recruitment Group in 2011. She has an MA in Film and Television from DCU.

Dressing for your body type

Lisa will be at the Miinto.ie stand from 11-5pm on the 26th pushing dressing for your body shape and is going to spend approximately 10-15 minutes with each member of the public that approaches the Miinto.ie stand to talk about, what styles they should be wearing for their figure and also picking pieces from the Miinto.ie website (from and IPad) to illustrate these styles.

Lisa will also be hosting a masterclass to help you pick the best styles for your figure complete with a Q&A segment to allow interaction with all who attend. Lisa will also have some freebies for everyone that pops over to the Miinto.ie stall to spend some time talking about their body shapes.’

Rimmel London is about taking the latest catwalk trends and translating them into looksthat real women can follow and we will be doing just that at this year’s Ultimate Girls Day Out show. Rimmel is proud to be back once again as the Official Make-up Sponsor of the show and our team of make-up pros will be working their magic back stage so you can expect to see the latest make-up trends on the catwalk.


We also have professional make-up artist, Ken Boylan, giving his renowned make-up masterclasses so head over to the Smart Girls Zone to get his latest tips, tricks and trends! Ken will show you how to recreate the latest catwalk looks with Rimmel’s range of affordable, colourful & high quality products.

Ken Boylan is one of Ireland’s most esteemed freelance make up artists. With seventeenyears experience in the industry Ken regularly contributes to leading fashion publications and is a frequent contributor on television programmes such as RTE’s The Afternoon Show, and TV3’s Xpose & Ireland AM. He has also worked with a host of celebrities and models for red carpet events, award ceremonies, fashion shoots and shows.

Ken has been a guest on RTE’s ‘Off the Rails’ since it’s inception eight years ago, where he has transformed countless women during the program’s make over segments.
