IDME founder Dee O'Leary wins €30k bursary in Cork

Founder of IDME Dee O’Leary as won the €30,000 Cork innovates business support bursary at the InBusiness InCork 2013 showcase.

IDME has created and produces identity wristbands for children and medical emergencies. O’Leary’s experience of pitching on RTE TV show Dragon’s Den helped her to victory in the Cork pitching competition.

“Winning this bursary is so important for my company’s development; I have planned exactly how I am going to use the €30,000 support provided by the Cork innovates bursary and grow my business to the next level this year,” she said.

“IDME is my response to the stressful scenario that involves children being separated from their carers without any form of identification.

“Our wristbands will provide contact details for immediate recovery, as well as profile your child’s medical requirements if need be. My three-year old calls it his ‘secret agent’ wristband; I call it a little bit of peace of mind.”
